I am far from a beach person but, as they say, when in Rome. So my last morning on 3.5 hours sleep. What could be better than an hour walk on the beach and lying in the sun with some coffee? In about an hour or so I will be headed to Jerusalem. This is the main reason for my trip to Israel. I will be taking a Taxi to the Old City it will end up costing around 350 NIS (New Israeli Shekel-approx $85.00). That is a bargain for the quiet and privacy after a long night out in Tel Aviv.
My first stop, after checking in, will be the Damascus Gate. This gate, if I am right, was built around the Second Temple period. It should be noted that the Romans of course built a new gate.
Why bother with this information? Well as I have said before I like to touch history! Check out this cool 3d Tour of Damascus gate: http://www.3disrael.com/jerusalem/damascus_gate.cfm
Less writing and more doing now.
