I am looking forward to taking a couple of days off this week (well mostly off), sort of make-up days for working all weekend. I am headed to Philadelphia, there are several good reasons to go to Phila; Pretzels, Family, Opera, Phillies, Art, Lithuanian Beer (easier then heading to Vilnius). So this week I will go for all of the above except the Phillies
who happen to be out of town as they are playing the same time as the Opera.
I have seen Tosca at the Met in NYC and Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Sicily http://www.teatromassimo.it/. So the opportunity presented itself and I decided to see it in Philadelphia, performed by the Opera Company of Philadelphia this Wednesday night. I almost was not able to get a good seat; this thing is practically sold out.
Additionally, I will get to use my membership to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The current Exhibitions look great: http://www.philamuseum.org/exhibitions/.
I hope to get a case of beer, SVYTURYS Beer, and with any luck USAIR will let me check it as fragile. It will make for a good BBQ. http://www.lithuanianbeer.com/svyturys_beer.html
Of course there will be Pretzels everywhere. Oh yeah and I will be seeing Karen and hopefully Jennifer… This month has been a big travel month and it is not going to get much better as I have a trip to the west coast of South America and Columbia, and I would like to go back to Vietnam soon to see more and stay longer.
So yeah, I am going to see Tosca! You should go if you are in Philadelphia, get your tickets fast! http://www.operaphila.org/
