This morning we visited to a British Heritage Site and that makes the second one for me this year, the first was Stonehenge. What a good stop it was, and afterwards we took another short trip to a Penguin Colony. This colony was quite different! You see, penguins, in their natural habitat on land appear quite dirty, to me anyway.
The landing was a wet landing and we stepped out onto rocks and then onward to the small island. By the way for the first time since we got here the sun came out and it was brilliant, I fear my face is sunburned as well. The Penguins were sparkly clean as this island had a pool of water in which they both bathed and played.
I took some pictures of the penguins and also a few sets of whalebones from when the whalers operated on the island. But now for the best part-I shot a full video of a Zodiac coming in and the people being offloaded. I also got a short video of the clean penguins swimming.
So after this it was back to the boat to load up on carbs at lunch for the camping tonight. I will be camping under the stars on the mainland or at least I believe that is the plan. I have to sign off as our first trip to the mainland is in about thirty minutes. I may do an audio blog post tonight from the campsite!
