I woke up this morning and the seas were relatively calm for the Drake, I have no complaints. I heard a great story from my cabin mate on how he got some fresh fish from the Russian crew and I have a nice bottle of 2006 Russian Vodka from the same, Vintage Vodka, interesting.
I did not spend much time in the bar/lounge last night as I decided to get to sleep early and hear the stories from the decks below. It occurs to me that once people knew I was blogging about my trip experiences this may have changed what they were discussed. Some people closed up in conversations some people opened up. It is like the observer effect; once they realized a writer was observing them they changed. It is amazing that some people did not change at all. I would put myself always in that group. I find it is important to be comfortable your own skin and to not care about what people say about your person or behavior.
I went to a lecture yesterday and it was about the Arctic and going to Greenland also. I will have to check it out when I get back. We dock tomorrow at 7am-ish. I will miss this ship, the people and the crews – I wish I had the opportunity to meet the all of the Russian crew, maybe next time. So I will be writing a novella on this cruise and it should be good or maybe bad, we shall see!
