AH – This was only a draft! So here goes a few days late!
Well, I am not looking forward to the AM. In the morning I need to grab a bit of breakfast and then take a little walk; I have to walk through the train station and then onto via nazionaile and then a right onto Via Gueffa, that turns into Via Degli Alfani to reach my final target of the Galleria dell’ Academia. This will be my last stop of a long weekend. I have seen the Fake David and now I have to finish with the real David. I did enjoy my time in Bologna. A few minutes and more with some friends then I was able to visit the museum to the First Western University.
I had the great opportunity to visit the classroom of professor Carducci when at the museum. In addition to the i got to see Plaza Majorie and the Neptune fountain and the towers of Bologna.
I have to say the Uffizi Gallery was beyond amazing as related to its art collection! The Botticelli, “Primavera” was amazing and the Birth of Venus, no less amazing! I always love the Ponte Vecchio, It is a great thing it survived WWII and the Arno Flood after that!
The pasta and beer to the right is a great way to end the night, I could make better pasta, but it would taste different in concord versus florence, something about the air I bet!
Pisa was great, I have to say, before you go read up on the history of the leaning tower – it will make your visit so much better

My Florence Mug was a cheap painted mug, those of you that know me know I collect mugs… Now I have to go back to Florence, maybe i will take a train when I am in Rome in January!
Rob Yonaitis at SUmmit
Today, was a day of achieving another item on my list, not a bucket list, just a list of things I want to accomplish. The summit, Mount Washington is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at 6,288 ft (1,917 m). So what is that 1/3 of the way to Base Camp of Everest. So Progress! I was cold, explaining the bulky jacket but it was nice. Winds were only 25mph or more so not as cold as it could have been. They are predicting some tonight or tomorrow so this may have been the last dry day of the season, Dry meaning not frozen.
Next weekend I will do a small mountain, something 4000 ft or more, maybe VT. Who knows, however I have to go to the 2009 Ideas conference on Sunday. Good news is I am back in the game.
Well I am tired, I suppose I am not 18 anymore!!! Time to watch the ninth gate and relax.
rob in from of Assyrian sculpture
Well I am coming up on my last day in London. It has been a good trip and I have to say I have had my fix as related to both arts and culture. The Greek and Assyrian sculpture was great. Now I have to note that the friezes from the Parthenon were good and it is worth seeing the whole exhibit I strongly suggest, when travel is so affordable, go to Athens! There is nothing like going to see and touch things where they stand verses in a room.
However do not dismiss the value of things in the room. You can go into the enlightenment room of the British Museum and look at the items in a room and Imagine how they changed the world. If you are lucky enough there will be a table set up and you can have hands on to some of the artifacts.
I have been writing up my technical post regarding the Standards-Next meeting at City University here in London and I think it is coming out OK. It is designed to take the reader through the thought process of Initial Evidence, Research, and Findings and then how to best present them to successfully argue your point or position. It will be posted on my Tech Blog

Well, It is of course important to keep the weekend hike going while preparing for Mt. Everest. The problem was the weather as the only good day was today. Sunday, a day where the Eagles are just Killing it, Farve is doing it and a night where the pats will with any luck will lose 🙂 Yes I do not like the Pats, oh well! In the end 2 out of 3 will do just fine.
So the top altitude today was 1800 Feet. not a summit but a good up and down 1.5 hour hike with a view with a return time of halftime.
On another note After the 4pm game I need to pack for London.
Well I have a big Hike on Friday so I need to get a workout in, second of the day. Had a good morning, couple calls to EU, some discussions on HERA and AChecker. It seems that the economy is slowly turning around in the EU and this is good. My second workout will be backwards today, I will start with the Sauna, you have to love the fall weather and then I will move to my Machines and free weights! I will be ready for Everest this spring!
Chapter 5 – Partners (draft) is ready from my new work of fiction, Novella Form. Today i seem to have a good balance, so on days where one has good balance it is time to practice scales. I will work to get my fingers in shape as well as the rest of my workout!
So when my Fingers are done and my neighbors have heard enough of my bad playing, I think I will turn to my Rosetta Stone for a Italian and Spanish Lesson!
